We edit for grammar, style, structure and organization, and, when necessary, to clarify meaning. If we don’t understand something, we will query it. We will never change the intended meaning of your text.

Line editing includes correcting errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, usage, and syntax. It also involves ensuring consistency in style and voice, smoothing transitions, and pointing out material that is unclear or ambiguous. This type of editing can usually be done relatively quickly.

Substantive editing  “adds value” to a text by making content suggestions. This type of editing takes longer than line editing.

Writing tutorials are one-on-one sessions tailored to your needs. We can brainstorm together or work on an existing draft. I can help you to articulate a thesis and present your ideas so that your transitions are smooth and your writing flows. I can also give grammar lessons, if desired.
